If I told you the truth, I’d be lying,

with all the lies we’re buying.

If it doesn’t make sense, if there’s a missing link,

It’s just because that’s what they want you to think.

 

There’s this memory I have of last week,

But I know it’s just memory’s defeat.

Of English scones and afternoon tea,

But I know what I saw was not what I see.

 

All I remember that I know is true,

Is a shady location, a darkened room,

Where something went down, and someone was dying…

But if I told you what I remembered…

Well, if I told you the truth, I’d be lying.
